Who We Are
Neoen, the majority owner of the Hornsdale Wind Farm Project is an Independent Power Producer specialized in renewable energy projects. The company is headquartered in Paris (France) and operates across renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, and biomass with an experienced staff of 65 employees.
Neoen develops, finances, constructs, operates and maintains its projects as a fully integrated renewable energy player, with a genuine long-term approach. Since its founding in 2008, Neoen expanded beyond its local market in France and currently has its main projects in Portugal (2010), French Guyana (2011), Australia (2012), Mexico, USA/Canada and Egypt (2013). It is also actively developing projects in other African areas, in the Pan-Caribbean region and in the Asia-Pacific region.
Megawatt Capital, which holds a minority share in the Hornsdale Wind Farm, was established in 2013 to apply the power investment expertise and experience of its executives. The company undertakes two complementary activities; firstly acting as a principal in leading or participating in the development of renewable energy projects, and secondly in supporting organizations active in the cleantech, renewable energy and general power sectors by arranging equity and debt finance and assisting in shaping and implementing business strategies.
The company draws on the experience of members of the former Investec Bank Power Investment team, which incepted and developped the Hornsdale Wind Farm project until early 2014. Mark Schneider, the founder of Megawatt Capital led the Investec team and he has been joined in the company by Mark Headland and Richard Castellari, two senior Investec colleagues.
